PARKING LOT PROJECT HAS BEEN COMPLETED!!!!

Parking Lot Construction Update (June 19, 2023):

The recent rain has hampered progress but construction is still moving along! They worked on a brick retaining wall on Friday to help with soil erosion. The new walking paths are in and even new signs to separate the bike path from parking lot. Striping will get done soon, but that’s all based on the weather.

Sorry, still no RV’s and Vehicles with trailers (yet).  The Shipwreck Museum is open from 9am-5pm.

Again, thank you for your patience and understanding.

Parking Lot Project Update 06-08-23
Bike paths were put in last night!  Today will be a day for all the asphalt to rest and cool off so our new parking lot doesn’t get all marked up and malleable (deformation). Workers will be back Friday to work on the shoulders and topsoil.
Please park where directed and sorry, still no RV’s and Vehicles with trailers (yet). We are very close for a place for everybody to park!
Again, thank you for your patience and understanding.

Whitefish Point – IMPORTANT!!!

Please read the message from the Engineer in charge.

“We will be closing Whitefish Point road and entire parking lot north of the State Harbor access to begin paving on Monday night at 6 pm. There will be no vehicles, ORV’s, pedestrians, or bicycles allowed past that point to ensure the safety of the public and the workers. It will be the same for Tuesday and Wednesday nights. We will reopen at 5:30 am to allow bird watchers in. Museum will be able to operate normally 9am – 5 pm with full access to parking. “

Before you know it the project will be done and everyone will be able to enjoy our brand new parking lot!
