This baseball style cap, with insignia, represents the US Lighthouse Service. It is made of navy blue cotton fabric with embroidered gold thread in the insignia. The USLHS began in 1789 and joined the US Coast Guard in 1939. USLHS was responsible for the daily maintenance, upkeep of lighthouses, along with risking their lives to save sailors in peril, day or night. -
